African Breakthrough
We were awarded a major contract with ASECNA, Senegal to supply nine airport weather systems. Asecna are responsible for providing air traffic control services across 15 countries in West Africa and Madagascar and our systems are to be installed across their region.

The systems are to use our recently enhanced 'Windows 2000' workstations to compile aviation, synoptic and climatological reports and access live and historical data. In addition our SO/2000 weather station will provide wind, temperature and pressure information and provide redundancy. Philip Goodall, Director Business Development commented that this large contract was a significant development for Muir Matheson, building on the success of our airport systems elsewhere and was won because of our commitment to a customer focused product at an attractive price.

To represent the sites, a group of 10 Asecna employees visited Muir Matheson for 2 weeks, from the 4th March 2002. This was to give them full system training and to carry out Factory Acceptance Testing.

Mini Metcom
A new development from Muir Matheson is our miniMetcom system which will allow the semi-automatic production of Metar and Speci reports, and includes an audio output for broadcast or telephone access and will compile the met. register. It will also prompt at Metar time with an audible and/or visible warning on screen. The software will run alongside your existing Afcom software and data can be transmitted to the AFTN and also the miniMetcom can be used to display regional QNH values received on AFTN.
