Newcastle Airport New Tower

Muir Matheson successfully completed installation of a new SAMOS (Semi Automated Meteorological Observation System) for use in new ATC tower at Newcastle Airport during September 2007. This system supplied under a contract worth around £50,000 will provide both Metcom & Afcom facilities to the airport. Manager of Air Traffic Engineering, Allan Brooks adds: “Muir Matheson’s engineers were a pleasure to deal with, their commitment to their customers is excellent” The new system went into operational service in November 2007.

Managing Director, Philip Goodall stated “We were very pleased to be given the opportunity to provide this system and continue our long association with Newcastle Airport. As well as upgrading the existing Metcom system we were also able to add our AFTN system (Afcom) to provide a fully integrated package for ATC.”
