For some time Muir Matheson has been looking to develop relations with an oceanographic company to complement our meteorological operations. We have worked with Metocean Services International (MSI) over the past two years and established a very good working relationship and developed an understanding to work together on a number of projects.

MSI specialise in oceanographic studies (measurements of waves, currents, and tides) including data gathering and data analysis. As well as their HQ in Cape Town, South Africa, MSI has also recently established a new office in Tasmania, Australia and are currently undertaking large projects in Sakhalin ( Russia), Mozambique and the Mediterranean.

“Muir Matheson is a respected force in the world of marine operations,” reports Philip Goodall. “We already provide services in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Angola, Nigeria, Senegal to name a few, but the relationship with MSI significantly augments our worldwide operations and strengthens our position in the marine operations market place. Indeed we will now be in a position to bid for joint meteorological and oceanographic work, which is a fast growing area both in the oil industry and more generally as the study of the world’s oceans extends to deeper waters.”
