Caspian WebMET Project Update

New Caspian Webmet Layout

Caspian WebMET is a dedicated web-based system which monitors the weather in and around the Caspian Sea. Kevin Chrystal, Caspian WebMET Project Manager, explains the developments which have taken place over the last 12 months and what the future holds for the WebMET project.

“It has been another eventful year on the Agip Kazakhstan project. Following our contract award in September 2006 to provide a web based real-time weather display (Caspian WebMET) we have been working towards development of the website to meet strict client requirements. The website currently shows live data from 9 land and offshore weather monitoring stations plus 4 airport locations within Kazakhstan and continues to prove to be a valuable product to pipeline, marine and helicopter operations in the country.”

“After the initial discussions with Agip, work started improving the flexibility of the site configuration allowing our client to add new stations and parameters as they became live. Another part of the planned development work was to the appearance and feel of the site. After making significant progress with these changes it was decided that the continuation and further development would be outsourced to Pisys Ltd. allowing their experienced web designers to finish off the implementation part of the project. Their extensive track record of software and website development is sure to bring value to the Muir Matheson Caspian WebMET product.”
