Q. What type of positions have you held within the company?
Since starting with Muir Matheson in 1996, I have progressed from being an Operations/Project Engineer, then Assistant Project Manager (Shell), to Senior Project Engineer and I am now Engineering Manager.
Q. What types of projects have you been involved in?
Over the last 10 years almost every type of system MM provides: everything from very basic Met systems for use on landfills to comprehensive Met / Ocean monitoring systems on FPSOs and dual redundant SAMOS (Semi Automated Meteorological Observation Systems) at major airports.
Q. Of these projects what was the most exciting and why?
It’s truly difficult to say as each project has been an absorbing and unique task. The most exciting individual projects have been those with novel features such as the integration of a new type of measurement device or the development of new data processing software.
Q. Has your job taken you to any interesting places?
My desk is a pretty interesting place these days! In previous roles I’ve travelled to field sites ranging from the Campos Basin ( Brazil) to landfills in Fife.
