Patrolling The Skies With Muir Matheson
Muir Matheson continues to develop its weather monitoring systems portfolio through its work with police air support units across the UK. In the last six months we have secured partnerships with eight air support units from Sussex to West Yorkshire for the supply and installation of our air support weather systems and software.
While the Civil Aviation Authority discusses the introduction of regulation changes and the requirement for cloud height and visibility measures to be put in place, demand for our services from the air support units continues. Using lasers, light beams and software generated by Muir Matheson, police air support units can use this graphical display technology to measure cloud height and visibility, improving operations efficiently and safely. Muir Matheson has more than 15 years experience providing weather monitoring services to North Sea helicopters. This expertise is being used with the police air support units and our Airport Weather Systems are being adapted to meet this specific requirement for the police.
