Campbell Scientific Acquire Muir Matheson

Muir Matheson is pleased to announce that the Company has recently been acquired by data monitoring specialists Campbell Scientific Ltd.

We are already active Campbell customers integrating various Campbell products into our systems. Campbell Scientific, who manufacture and sell data monitoring instruments, purchased the company in late November 2007.

Currently operating in related but non-competing markets it is expected that the two companies will continue to operate independently but will seek to develop areas of synergy to enhance the product ranges and competitiveness of both companies.

Speaking about the merger Campbell Scientific managing director Dick Saffell said “Muir Matheson’s experience in the integration of software and hardware into market leading weather systems for offshore and aviation coupled with our own experience of the manufacturing and marketing of leading data acquisition instrumentation used in the wider meteorological arena is both a natural and complementary development – it provides a real opportunity for both businesses to draw upon the skills of the other, cross-fertilise our respective markets and exploit new opportunities together”.
