Throughout the country there are many aviation operators flying helicopters that require a low cost solution for the gathering and displaying of meteorological data. As a result Muir-Matheson developed a product suitable for these operators which is used nationally by police support and air ambulance units.

Typically an ASU installation provides visibility and cloud data which is simply displayed on a screen with some simple processing performed to give an indication of cloud coverage. At some sites the installation has been expanded to provide barometric pressure and air temperature.
