Temperature & Humidity
Temperature sensors are used to measure the current ambient atmospheric temperature. Humidity sensors measure the moisture content of the atmosphere. The atmosphere always contains some moisture in the form of water vapour, which can be measured directly by a humidity sensor or from a wet-bulb temperature probe.
Humidity and temperature probes are designed for use with a wide range of display instrumentation.
There are Intrinsically Safe options for use in potentially explosive atmospheres e.g. chemical, petrochemical and processing industries. They can be used in explosive gas atmospheres when connected through protective zener barriers to the power supply.
Two devices (temperature and humidity) can be combined into a single probe and mounted in a radiation screen to prevent artificial heating by radiated heat sources, and to provide some protection from the elements.
